Simon joined RoukenBio in 2025 as a Study Manager, bringing a strong background in protein biochemistry and cell biology. He holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge in innate immune signalling. Fascinated by ubiquitin, he completed five years of postdoctoral research in David Komander's lab at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology and the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute, where he developed novel biochemical tools and assays.
Throughout his research career, Simon has applied diverse approaches to interrogate and manipulate protein interactions, resulting in multiple peer-reviewed publications. This experience sparked a lasting interest in innovative drug discovery strategies, including target protein degradation.
At RoukenBio, Simon oversees client studies from concept to delivery. He specialises in protein binding assays and leads design, troubleshooting and data interpretation. He partners with clients, communicating complex data and shaping project strategy through collaborative discussion and clear documentation. His work supports the development of cutting-edge health solutions by bridging the gap between discovery and clinical application.
