Dr Shatakshi Sood

Dr Shatakshi Sood is an Associate Scientific Director at RoukenBio, where she leads the Allergy service unit and provides senior scientific oversight for preclinical and translational research programs supporting therapeutic innovation in allergic disease. Drawing on extensive experience across academia and industry, she brings a broad translational immunology perspective to the development and application of immune-targeted therapeutics. 

She holds a PhD in Immunology & Infection Research from the University of Edinburgh and has over a decade of experience spanning academic research and the biotechnology industry. Her background combines deep mechanistic understanding of immune biology with practical expertise in the development and validation of robust, client-ready assay platforms. She has led and contributed to a diverse range of immunology programs, delivering high-quality, reproducible, and decision-enabling data, with particular focus on allergy and immune-mediated disease through advanced cellular and functional immunology assays, mechanism-of-action characterization, and preclinical strategy. 

As head of the Allergy Team, Dr Sood oversees the design and execution of cutting-edge immunology assays that support partners across the drug development pipeline. Her team specializes in mechanistic allergy biology, functional immune cell responses, and bespoke in vitro models tailored to allergic disease pathways. She is committed to advancing the understanding and treatment of allergic and immune-mediated diseases through innovative immunology technologies and translational research.
